ITCZ 101 - A Sincere Approach

A key part of getting In The Cool Zone is coming to the Lord in a sincere way. We want to always approach others in a sincere manner as well. Your sincerity is a super power and it comes from a thought process that is seeking the truth.

You must love the Lord you God with all your heart.


Truth Is Armor

The first piece of armor listed in the Armor of God is truth. Seeking the truth in all things, in every encounter keeps us from trying to, "win" arguments or "always be right" about a topic. We do not need to force what we know into a topic, situation or discussion.

We can sincerely have a discussion and have no other objective other than seeking and delivering the truth.

Other powers to add to sincerity are forgiveness, listening, curiosity and a willingness to learn. There are many more super powers to discuss but for today, let's raise our awareness on our sincerity and seeking the truth.


Sincerity Seeks Truth

As we get equipped and build fortitude in the way we think, we become a calm, cool customer. We are also armed with knowledge that the God of all creation has given us and a wisdom that blows away anything the world has to offer.

So we can maintain our confidence in the Lord and our love toward others while remaining inquisitive about things we do not know or that may be unclear.

You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart. - 1 Peter 1:22 NLT

The scriptures arm us with knowledge of history, science, social interaction, world events past, present and future, paranormal activity, and the list goes on and on. Needless to say as we get closer to the Lord we become armed to the teeth. :-)

He Who Is Wise Wins Souls

How we wield this knowledge and our approach is powerful as well. Sincerity is a super power in our delivery of the Gospel. If we disregard our sincerity, can we win arguments? Sure we can! Can we use our knowledge in a prideful way just to get the victory in a debate? Indeed.

The point here is that the only win that matters is the salvation of a soul. Because the knowledge and abilities of a Christian can be so powerful we must come from a heart that is sincere and understands our Father's objectives. Let's use our powers for good and not evil.

Sincerity and seeking the truth is the best approach for wielding the information we have.

But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. - 1 Timothy 1:5 NASB

We always want to be learning as well as teaching, guiding and winning souls. It's a great formula that keeps our mind fixed on the Lord and His objectives. Let's be as good of a student as we are a teacher. We have nothing to prove.

Be the person God created you to be with all confidence. Keep learning. Keep growing. Your sincerity is a powerful tool.

Take Action!

When you engage someone with the Gospel or things of God do you feel like they are not getting it? 
Oof! For sure. It's OK. Focus on delivering the Word and let the Holy Spirit do His work in that person.
If your attitude is one of sincerity you don't have anything to prove. Can you be more prepared next time around? Sure you can. Staying sincere in your objective of knowing and delivering the truth will keep you on track to do good and do no harm.

Galvanize Your Heart

Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. What and how you think about life is extremely important. There is also another aspect of thinking that needs to be considered as well. That would be the priority of thinking. The scripture in Romans 12:2 NLT  does not ask us to change the way we feel. We need to change the way we think. Thinking is the part of your heart that the Lord is working on. So let's put a high priority on how we think. Pray. Think first.
