ITCZ 101 - Deliver The Gospel

When we are going about our day it's not too hard to get caught up in the daily events that consume our time. It's just normal life but let's not let the work of the day take away from opportunities to share the Gospel.

For his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.

The Abundance Of The Heart

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth will speak. This is the foundation for being ready to deliver the gospel at a moment's notice. When the opportunity presents itself the heart, when full, must speak. A heart full of the scriptures does not fear to speak the Gospel. It craves every opportunity.

Delivering The Gospel

We were instructed by Jesus to be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove. Let's develop a strategy of delivering the Gospel and teaching the scriptures that can accomplish both of these goals and master it.

First know what the Gospel is. The entire chapter of 1st Corinthians 15 is a great start and deserves a read through. Be sure to keep verses three and four locked and loaded for a concise and powerful presentation of the Gospel.

I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 NLT

Tell All, Reach Some

Not everyone is going to receive the Gospel. In fact, most people will require a life changing event and/or a few encounters with individuals sharing the Gospel before they truly consider receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Paul even indicated this when he said one plants and another waters. The Lord seems to have a way of sending multiple people to an individual to continue to provide information to save their souls. As we are sharing the Gospel we should expect that the Lord is most likely engaging those we speak with through other Christians as well.

After all, who is Apollos? Who is Paul? We are only God's servants through whom you believed the Good News. Each of us did the work the Lord gave us. I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering.
What's important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. - 1 Corinthians 3:5-8 NLT

You Are Not Alone

If you are giving someone the Gospel I can assure you the Lord has engaged that person with some event and He has sent someone before you to prep that individual. Maybe, you are getting that person ready for the next encounter they have with another Christian.

You are never alone. Sometimes you are the planter. Sometimes the waterer. Both have great purpose. Have confidence in knowing that it's the Holy Spirit that will give the increase and bring the conviction.

Take Action!

Have you ever wondered how you can be better at delivering the Gospel?
The things we are passionate about will be the things we talk about. They are the things we spend time with and the things we work at mastering. Fire up your passion for the Lord and the process becomes fun and challenging.
Our best encounters are probably with people we know. If you are sharing the Lord with someone it may come as a surprise, but I bet that person has recently had an encounter with another Christian recently. I have been startled at how many times it has happened with me.
